Man United Team News Ahead of Wolves Clash
Manchester United’s Injury Update

Manchester United are keeping their fingers crossed that commanding centre-back Matthijs de Ligt will have recovered from his illness in time for the Boxing Day meeting with Wolves.
The Reds have conceded seven goals in their last two outings, and De Ligt’s presence could be a significant boost to the backline.
Head coach Ruben Amorim addressed the media in his pre-match press conference, shedding light on his selection policy and the current injury situation. “At this moment, it’s not about rotating players to see what the future holds,” Amorim explained. “It’s about avoiding injuries.
Matthijs is currently unwell, while Harry Maguire can’t play three days in a row due to his recent lack of game time.”
Amorim also touched on the need to manage his players’ workload, citing the examples of Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund.
“I have to think about whether Kobbie is ready to cope with two games in quick succession, and similarly with Rasmus, who played two games and needed fresh legs for the third.”
The Portuguese tactician emphasized his commitment to winning games while also keeping a long-term perspective. “I’m aware that big clubs don’t have a lot of time, and we need to win games.
But I also know that we have to manage the team to avoid injuries, which would be a massive problem.”
Amorim also addressed the recent absence of Marcus Rashford, who has been the subject of much speculation. “It’s a difficult situation,” Amorim acknowledged.
“I understand that players have people around them influencing their decisions. As a coach, I focus on performance and training. The rest is for the club to handle.”
Manchester United will be without Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount for the Wolves game due to injury.
All remaining Manchester United players are anticipated to be fit and available for selection against Wolves on Boxing Day.
