Reasons Behind Luke Shaw’s Absence from the Utd Squad

Luke Shaw has been left out of the Manchester United squad for today’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.

According to manager Ruben Amorim, Shaw is being rested after playing 75 minutes in the Europa League win over Lyon on Thursday.

Amorim wants to manage Shaw’s minutes carefully, especially with the Europa League semifinals approaching.

Shaw trained without any issues at Carrington on Sunday morning, and Amorim emphasized that the defender needs to rest after accumulating significant playing time.

Shaw’s last start was against Luton Town last season, and he only recently returned to action after a long injury spell.

Amorim has made several changes to the lineup, giving opportunities to young players like Tyler Fredricson, who will make his debut, and Harry Amass, who will start his second game for the club. Chido Obi is also named as a substitute.

Manchester United’s schedule is packed, with the next match against Bournemouth scheduled for a week after the Wolves game.

Amorim’s decision to rest Shaw might be aimed at ensuring the player’s fitness and availability for the crucial upcoming matches.
