Reasons Revealed: Scott McTominay Move To Napoli Delayed

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Serie A side Napoli to sign Scott McTominay.

The Athletic have reported that a £25.4million deal has been agreed but the proposal is subject to all parties being satisfied with the player’s personal terms. The report adds that United have included a clause which will see them receive a share of any future sale from Antonio Conte’s side.

The Scotland international is into the final 12 months of his current deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year, but the prospect of a departure for the 27-year-old will see United bank pure profit in the eyes of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

McTominay is an academy graduate, joining the club in 2012, before he made his debut under Jose Mourinho aged 20. The uncertainty surrounding the midfielder’s future came after Premier League rivals Fulham initially expressed an interest with Napoli also keeping tabs on his future.

Scott McTominay finally accepted Napoli’s proposal, after agreement between both clubs. Scott McTominay was scheduled to travel to Naples tonight but a move has now been delayed due to documents issue.
