Sporting President Reduce Gyokeres Asking Price

Sporting Club de Portugal has reportedly assured Viktor Gyökeres that he’ll be allowed to leave the club this summer for a fee between £50-60 million.
This development comes amid speculation about Gyökeres’ future.
Tension has been building between Gyökeres and Sporting, with reports suggesting the player was frustrated with the club’s stance on his potential transfer.
Some outlets claimed Gyökeres had told Sporting he’d never play for them again due to a breakdown in trust over his transfer valuation.
Sporting’s president, Frederico Varandas, has denied any firm agreement for a lower fee, stating that Gyökeres won’t leave for €60m plus €10m because he never promised that.
However, Varandas acknowledged that Sporting wouldn’t demand the full €100 million release clause.
Behind-the-scenes discussions have apparently progressed, leading to a clearer understanding of Sporting’s demands.
The £50-60 million price tag is more realistic for interested clubs than the initial release clause.
Gyökeres has turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, signaling his desire to remain in European football.
He’s reportedly interested in a move to the Premier League, with top clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea vying for his signature.
Viktor Gyokeres is said to be open to the idea of reuniting with his former boss Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
Gyökeres has enjoyed an incredible two seasons with Sporting, scoring 97 goals in 102 appearances.
His impressive performances have made him one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers, putting Sporting in a difficult position as they balance maximizing his transfer value with facilitating a move for a player who’s given so much to the club. Gyökeres is still waiting for the right offer.
