Bryan Mbeumo is poised to make his highly anticipated Manchester United debut against Everton in the final match of their US pre-season tour, manager Ruben Amorim confirmed today.
The Cameroon international’s involvement in the clash at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium comes amidst lingering concerns over his match fitness, with Amorim opting for a patient approach to integrate his new £71 million signing.
Mbeumo, who joined United from Brentford just before the squad departed for their Stateside tour, has been a notable absence from the Red Devils’ first two pre-season fixtures against West Ham and Bournemouth.
Speaking after the recent victory over West Ham, Amorim clarified the decision, stating, “Bryan is just starting slow. He’s not going to play the next one [against Bournemouth]. We hope to have Bryan in the last game [vs Everton]. He’s training now so we’ll see.”
